Welcome to our newly updated website! This spring we decided to try a new approach: pivoting away from coordinating every volunteer day, to instead providing travelers with the information they need to schedule directly with our vetted nonprofits. This change decreases our overhead cost and allows us to streamline our operations while keeping our focus on supporting nonprofits around the globe.
On each nonprofit page of our site, you’ll find a “learn more” button which will link you to the corresponding organization’s website where you can contact them directly to coordinate a volunteer day.
As social justice advocates, we believe that one of the most impactful ways to support nonprofits is through both giving and volunteering; we hope Give A Day Globalers will continue to join us on this mission and respect our partner organizations by making a contribution when you volunteer. Some organizations require minimum contributions, and all of them appreciate it. Travel usually comes from discretionary (non-essential) budget; allocating a small percentage of your time as well as your travel budget to charities in the places you travel is a powerful way to make a difference.
And we still encourage crowdfunding tools as well to fundraise your donation, so charitable contributions can be no extra cost to you. We’ve always believed that crowdfunding is a great way to get your friends and families involved, while spreading awareness of wonderful causes around the world.
On that note, check out our most recently added organization in Laos. We’ve received numerous reports from travelers and ambassadors for our organization that volunteering here is nothing short of wonderful.
